FCN Doctors and staff give back to families in need

Dec 13, 2019

Family Care Network's Squalicum Family Medicine has two amazing elves — Nancy Rathjen and Marie Gonzalez — who organize and shop for children in need every holiday season.

SFM started supporting the Salvation Army Giving Tree and Lydia Place holiday donation programs about eight years ago.

"Our shopping elf extraordinaire Nancy, with her coupon clipping skills, gets amazing deals to make our dollars stretch further," Marie said.

Their most memorable gift they've given was for a child with disabilities who needed a Kindle Fire to help him communicate.

Marie said the generosity of employees and online coupons helped them give a life-changing gift to a child in need.

"It's rewarding for us to know we are bringing joy to children  and making a difference in their lives," she said.

A few FCN employees of the Patients Account Department pose next to gifts donated by their department, the IT Department, and the Finance Department.

A handful of PAD employees delivered the gifts to four patients at the Orchard Memory Care Center on Thursday, Dec. 12  and helped them unwrap their gifts.

This year was the first time Family Care Network's Family Health Associates participated in Lydia Place's holiday donation program. Doctors and staff donated many gifts to families in need. They look forward to doing it again next year.

Anyone can participate in helping families in need this holiday season!
