Family Care Network recently joined the #StopHateforProfit campaign by temporarily suspending paid advertising on Facebook and Facebook-owned platforms. #StopHateForProfit is a coalition of civil rights groups and organizations attempting to draw attention to misuse of social media to disseminate harmful information.
The campaign seeks policy changes at Facebook and Facebook-owned platforms that will address hate speech, deliberate misinformation, violence, and extremism; and asks for actionable improvements around accountability, decency, and support for victims of harassment.
We join hundreds of other large and small organizations that are taking a stand against hate, bigotry, racism, antisemitism and violence.
Family Care Network will continue to provide relevant and trustworthy information to our patients and communities through social media in the form of non-paid content. We will evaluate our return to paid social media advertising following the campaign, which is set to run through July.
While paid social media advertising helps FCN reach more people, it is not the only way! If you see something you think others would find helpful or interesting, please share!
