Caring for you and your baby

When you choose a family physician for OB care, you get care before, during and after delivery with a doctor who knows you, your family, and your baby. Even better, the relationship you build with your doctor during pregnancy can continue with your child after birth. The same doctor you have come to know and trust can become your baby's doctor, too.

Family Care Network has strong measures in place to keep clinics safe during the COVID-19 outbreak. Many clinics offer dedicated times just for OB patients to reduce exposure risk.

We respectfully request that patients attend OB check-ups on their own, unless assistance is absolutely necessary. We understand the desire to include your partner, however most of our exam rooms are not large enough to practice safe social distancing with additional people in the room.

We are still providing child immunizations and will continue to do so for the health and safety of your child. If your child is due for immunizations, please call your clinic to schedule an appointment. We ask that only one adult attend well child checks and/or immunization appointments.

COVID-19 vaccine during pregnancy

Getting vaccinated is the most important thing you can do to protect yourself and your baby against COVID. Pregnant women who become infected with COVID have increased risk for pregnancy and personal health complications. COVID vaccines are safe and effective and strongly recommended by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the CDC, and Family Care Network. Please review the links below and let your doctor know if you have any questions.

A doctor you can count on

Family physicians are residency-trained, board-certified specialists who provide sensitive, collaborative, and family-focused OB care – from conception to delivery and beyond. If care by another type of specialist is needed duing your pregnancy, your family physician will make sure you receive proper consultation in a timely manner.

A special part of OB care at Family Care Network is that your family doctor also knows all about babies and kids! You can begin discussing newborn care, breast feeding, safety, and immunizations before your baby is born – there is no need to wait to meet a new doctor after delivery.

Family Care Network has more than 20 family physicians in Bellingham, Ferndale, Lynden, Blaine/Birch Bay, Mount Vernon and Anacortes who provide OB care. We also have several physicians who provide surgical OB care (c-sections and VBAC), at North Sound Family Medicine and Family Health Associates.
