Sheryl Haynes, LMHC

Sheryl Haynes, LMHC

I received my undergraduate degree from Western Washington University in human services and psychology. I have a Master of Arts in counseling psychology from National University. Collectively, I’ve worked in the field for over 20 years and as a mental health therapist for 12 years. I also am a child mental health specialist and provide therapy to youth ages 13 and up.

Prior to working for Family Care Network, I worked with youth and families in schools and a clinical setting. I believe in providing a safe, confidential space for youth to learn and explore who they are as they begin to independently navigate the world around them.

In today’s busy world it’s important to create space for personal growth and healing. I understand the many complexities of family, work, school, and relationship struggles. I use several modalities including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioral, solutional focused, person centered and dialectical behavioral therapy. Just as each person is unique so is each session. Our goal is to create an individualized plan to help you learn skills, process feelings, and find more joy and peace in your life.

When not at work I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids. A few of my favorite activities include spending time outdoors, crocheting, reading, gardening, and walking the many trails in Whatcom County.

Sheryl Haynes, LMHC serves patients at Squalicum Family Medicine and Whatcom Family Medicine (telemedicine only).
