Sports Medicine

At Family Care Network Sports Medicine, our fellowship-trained, board-certified sports medicine physicians work with patients of all ages and activity levels to identify, treat and manage the conditions that impact normal function and movement.

We specialize in non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal conditions to maximize function and minimize disability and time away from sports, work or school. Sports medicine is also an excellent place to start for individuals who would like to become active or begin an exercise program.

Through careful evaluation and assessment, we will work closely with you to accurately diagnose your condition and develop an individualized treatment plan. This may include minimally invasive non-surgical procedures, exercise prescriptions and/or a referral to the appropriate specialist.

Throughout your care, our focus will be to maximize function, minimize disability and safely get you back to what you love.

Conditions we commonly treat:

  • Overuse injuries
  • Acute injuries
  • Tendon/muscle strains
  • Joint pain
  • Nerve pain, such as carpal tunnel or tarsal tunnel syndrome
  • Chronic conditions such as arthritis, plantar fasciitis, and tendonitis
  • Sports-related concussions

Minimally invasive procedures performed in office:

  • Ultrasound-guided injections: hyaluronic acid, steroid (cortisone), myofascial trigger point injections, and prolotherapy
  • Platelet-rich plasma (PRP)
  • Hydro-dissection for nerve pain
  • Hydro-distension for frozen shoulder
  • Barbotage for calcific tendonitis
  • Joint and cyst drainage/aspiration
