Family Care Network is proud to support the second annual North Sound Regional Race and Health Equity Conference.
Organized by two of our own North Sound Family Medicine providers — Dr. Erica Gadzik and Arielle Furtado, ARNP — the conference aims to help healthcare professionals identify and eliminate racial health inequities in the community.
“My hope is that people leave this conference feeling empowered to find ways to bring health equity work into their daily lives,” Dr. Gadzik said. “The goal of this conference is to inspire folks to move from passive observers to active participants in promoting health equity, one small step at a time. We all have a role to play.”
In 2021, the first year the conference was held, 130 people attended, raising more than $100,000 in scholarship funds to support students of color pursuing careers in healthcare.
“This is a chance to learn more about what we can do as healthcare team members to better meet the needs of all patients,” Dr. Gadzik said.
The Race and Health Equity Conference directly supports FCN’s mission and values around serving a diverse community.
The conference is also supported by Chuckanut Health Foundation, NorthSound ACH, PeaceHealth, Skagit Regional Health and the Northwest Washington Medical Society.
