Nils Schoultz, PA-C

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina but grew up mainly in North Carolina and Vermont, where I studied German as an undergraduate at Middlebury College.  After completing a master’s degree in central European history at Columbia University, I decided to change course for a career in medicine. I graduated from East Carolina University’s physician assistant program in 2016 and worked at a community health center in Bellingham until moving to Ferndale Family Medical Center in 2024.

Family medicine interests me because of the variety of human experiences and health issues that I encounter every day. I have a particular interest in helping with the back, shoulder and knee pain that most of us deal with at some point in our lives. I’m also committed to helping all of my patients control their blood pressure.

Before my career as a physician assistant, I worked as a plastic injection mold operator, roofer, picture framer, English as a second language teacher and paramedic. My wife works as a baker and we have two children in elementary school. We all like being outdoors as much as possible, although our younger one objects to long hikes and too much time weeding in the garden.
