R. Ryan Honey, MD

I was born and raised on the windy plains of Midwest City, Okla. After completing medical school at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, I moved to Denver, Colo. for my residency training. I then joined the staff at Saint Joseph Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in Denver, where I had been taking care of patients since 2009. I’ve been fortunate to care for underserved patients while training new family medicine physicians in hospital medicine, pediatrics, newborn care, and care of women in pregnancy, including “high-risk” pregnancies and complicated deliveries including C-sections. The best part of living in Denver was the opportunity to meet my wife, who was working as a physician in the same clinic.

I am excited to care for my patients over the entire spectrum of life – from beginning to end, both within the clinic and into the hospital. I believe in the power of caring for the whole person and the whole family while building personal, long-lasting relationships.

Outside of work, I love to spend time outdoors with my wife and our two young daughters. From hiking to chasing my older daughter down the street on her scooter, being with them always makes my day brighter. As a family, we are so excited about life in Bellingham and the Pacific Northwest, including being closer to our family in Washington and British Columbia.
