I grew up in Everett, Washington and graduated from Seattle Pacific University, where I met my wife Cheryl. In 1978 I received my medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine, and then completed my family practice residency at Swedish Hospital in Seattle.
I began my medical practice in Lynden in 1981, and a year later joined Drs. Pederson and Petersen at Lynden Family Medicine.
Cheryl and I have two children and two grandchildren. I enjoy hiking, camping, biking, and raising llamas. I am active in my church, and travel regularly to Uganda on medical missions.
